I had an appointment in <em>Seochon(\uc11c\ucd0c)<\/em> later in the evening, but before that, I headed over to <em>Hannam-dong(\ud55c\ub0a8\ub3d9)<\/em> to check out the <em>&#8216;Alex Katz&#8217;<\/em> exhibition I\u2019d been curious about. Since <em>Thaddaeus Ropac<\/em> is perched high up on <em>Dokseodang-ro(\ub3c5\uc11c\ub2f9\ub85c) hill<\/em>, I strongly recommend taking a bus or a taxi up. The main entrance of <em>Thaddaeus Ropac<\/em> is on the second floor, so I headed straight up the stairs to check out the&nbsp;&#8216;<em>Mind\u2019s Eye&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;exhibition featuring works by <em>&#8216;Han Bing, Megan Rooney, and Joan Snyder first&#8217;<\/em>. Even though it was a Saturday morning, it was peaceful and uncrowded, making it a great time to browse. Afterward, I went through the side door down to the first-floor exhibition room, which was hosting the<em> &#8216;Alex Katz&#8217;<\/em> works I came to see. Since the short walkway connecting the door to the stairs is exposed to the outdoors\u2014and I had left my umbrella at the 2nd-floor entrance\u2014I ended up catching a light sprinkle of rain. But strangely, encountering those colorful paintings against gloomy, rainy weather created a striking contrast that gave me a subtle, fluttering excitement. There weren&#8217;t a ton of pieces on display, which only left me more curious about his other works. No special reason\u2014I just happened to see a photo of the exhibition online and became too curious not to see it in person. Taking a bus from<em> Thaddaeus Ropac<\/em>, I got off at <em>Hangangjin Station(\ud55c\uac15\uc9c4\uc5ed)<\/em>, crossed the big pedestrian crosswalk (following Naver Map), passed by<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/naver.me\/5CW7kF1Z\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/naver.me\/5CW7kF1Z\">Woolf Social Club<\/a><\/em>, and walked through a quiet alleyway I\u2019d never explored before. I caught&nbsp;<em>&#8216;CELLULAR MEMORY<\/em>&#8216;&nbsp;by<em> &#8216;Merikokeb Berhanu&#8217;<\/em>. Featuring a total of six pieces inspired by traditional Ethiopian primary colors, the palette was intensely bold yet remarkably harmonious\u2014the kind of paintings that have stayed with me&nbsp;long after leaving. Since I rarely venture up to the upper parts of <em>Hannam-dong<\/em> (where <em>Esther Schipper<\/em> is located) unless I have a specific meetup there, I figured I should explore everything while I had the chance. My next stop was the clothing brand&nbsp;<em>Nothing Written.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the way there, I quickly peeked into well-known ceramic shops like <a href=\"https:\/\/naver.me\/FFG3E7rc\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/naver.me\/FFG3E7rc\"><em>JISEUNGMIN CERAMICS<\/em><\/a>  and <a href=\"https:\/\/naver.me\/xq3qsaEv\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/naver.me\/xq3qsaEv\"><em>IAAC Craft<\/em><\/a> before finally arriving at <em>Nothing Written<\/em>.
